  1. Howdy Danger Room crew, nice recap of this issue. Just a quick reminder to you about Banshee getting his power back. He got them back in that “classic” storyline “The Retribution Affair” from Marvel Comics Presents. Not sure how you could have forgotten that “master piece” written by the guy what was such a writing genius he thought it was okay to let Claremont go, Bob Harras. Just another little reminder that we saw Stevie Hunter back with the X-Men at the start of X-Tenction agenda so it would make sense she is a viable target.

As far as the Spider-Man story goes, I really thought the beginning of the arc started off with great promise but you can tell it really started to go in circles half way through. Also I agree with both of you about the art. Todd was writing, penciling and inking this title and you can certainly see him taking short cuts when he could. You see this even with greats like John Byrne from time to time. I think all artists have an image in their head when they start a page or a comic, but the more they do the more time they lose and that dreaded production date always looms large over anything they do. I read a quote from John Romita JR a long time ago where he basically said, when describing his style, was he was trying to draw as fast as he could to make his deadlines, and that was his style. So when you think back to the guys who started image, McFarlane was the only one who seemed to be able to put a book out on time and he was the only one not working in a studio full of guys and not doing multiple titles.
