Hey guys always enjoy the pod
The movie Star 80 (1983)was the inspiration for issue 160,
Is the story of Actress Dorothy Stratton
Eric Robers plays the obsessed cokehead character.
Its a true story with some really horrible dark stuff …..
Wow, high praise from both Adam and Jeremy.
See? I told you this era of the X-Men was/is surprisingly fantastic. Don’t rush through it though, savor this run for all it’s worth – Claremont will be gone in a mere 19 issues.
Thoughts on issue #260:
Mild spoiler: Speaking of departures, this turned out to be Dazzler’s swan song with the X-Men. She briefly shows up again in a few years, but otherwise doesn’t have any more appearances until the mid-2000’s. Hopefully this news doesn’t ruin your day. As a Dazzler fan, it does kinda hit me in the feels.
Also, as I (re)read along with the podcast, I really wish we could have gotten a Forge & Banshee series. Like in the style of a “buddy cop” action comedy – I’m imagining a comic book version of Simon & Simon or Starsky & Hutch crossed with Quantum Leap. Have them solve crimes in each of the cities they visit while still searching for clues that will lead them one step closer to finding the missing X-Men. That would have kicked ass. Those two characters are a great pairing.
